Man.
Alison and I are already talking about how skeeerewed we are once Elaine can actually form sentences and use that power to tell us what to do and/or ask for something. I have some questions of you parents out there (young and old). How did you avoid spoiling your kid rotten? Or was that something you weren't able to avoid? Either way, would you do anything differently? In retrospect, what do you wish you would have put more of an emphasis on? (Feel free to use the comments section below if you want to share your answers...or email me.) Also feel free to tell me that I'm bonkers for even worrying about it.
So the most recent development in the little Lainey show is the liberal use of raspberries. She has learned how to 'make' them and boy does she enjoy it. We've yet to capture a really good raspberry session on video, but I'm sure we will in the days to come because it's ALL SHE DOES. She chatters, "ooh pthhh ghee PTHHHH beca PTHHHHH agah PTHHHHH!!!". I've had that one Depeche Mode song in my head for a few days now 'cause I just can't get enough.
In other news, Alison is in her second week back at work, so Lainey has Nana Aves hanging out with her, reading to her, changing her dipes and being the best nanny ever. Nana gives us a detailed report at the end of each day letting us know just how angelic our little girl has been. When we got home tonight, Elaine got a bath from her mother and Nana snapped this gem of a photo just after she got out - so this is fresh, clean baby action!
